Gracepoint is a new FOX series based on the UK drama series Broadchurch by Chris Chibnall, who also created and wrote the American version. Gracepoint is directed by James Strong and premiered on Fox in the US on October 2, 2014.
Plot[]
Gracepoint follows the events and investigation that unfold in the sleepy seaside town of Gracepoint after the tragic and mysterious death of a young boy named Danny Solano. Though the cause of his death remains unsolved – he was found on an idyllic beach surrounded by rocks and a jutting cliff face -- the picturesque town where the tragedy occurred is at the heart of a major police investigation and a nationwide media frenzy. Leading the investigation is Detective Emmett Carver, who has just arrived in Gracepoint to fill a high position in the town's police force. He is helped by Detective Ellie Miller who is slightly resentful towards him due to the fact that she was promised the promotion he received.
All of Gracepoint and its residents are effected by the murder and investigation, and, when the media comes to town, secrets are in danger.
